This sounds amazing! I must try it soon.

Have you ever tried to brine seitan? I’m curious about trying to cure/corn seitan like corned beef…. this recipe would be a good start, maybe?

I haven’t but now I’m curious! Let me know if you try it. I’m going to give it some thought too. πŸ™‚ I have another version of this brisket that uses montreal steak spice to give it an old-world pastrami-style crust. It’s not brined but it has that familiar taste…I’ll post it soon.

I always thought that on Passover you can’t use gluten-based meats?

For our family, who are not as strictly observant, this recipe works. It’s also good to keep on hand for Rosh Hashanah, which doesn’t have the same restrictions! πŸ™‚

Before the recipe there is a line that says “What I love about this dish is how creamy the sauce is- without the use of any plant based dairy alternatives”. Am I mis-understanding something or is that a mis-print? Isn’t this recipe supposed to be dairy alternative from plant based?

This recipe produces a creamy sauce without the use of any type of dairy – real or plant based. My recipes are written for both veggies and omnis alike and what I’m showing with this recipe is that you can create a creamy, delicious sauce without having to use a “milk” of any kind. It’s a neutral recipe that adapts to people with nut or soy allergies and can’t use those milks. πŸ™‚
